Help fortify our network so we can hit the ground running in 2025.
In a time when educators, students, and our communities will certainly be under increased attack, fortify our network with the resources it needs to survive & thrive.
Abolitionist Teaching Network is composed of hundreds of educators, young people, parents/caregivers, and organizers building towards educational liberation across this country and beyond. When you invest in us, you invest in them.
Since our founding 4 years ago, we have redistributed $300,000 directly to public school teachers, freedom school educators, students fighting book bans, language justice warriors, and more. We have facilitated affinity groups for Black womxn educators, created resource databases for queer & trans* educators & students, organized alongside incarcerated educators in Atlanta, and incubated the launch of two brick-and-mortar liberation schools in Ohio & Massachusetts.
And we are just getting started.
Though the climate of education and education organizing have been hostile for some time, we recognize that a Trump administration will only embolden a more repressive environment. But we are not afraid. We are ramping up our programs, launching a membership infrastructure, and increasing anti-doxxing and security measures so educators and young people can stay in the fight. We've been putting in WORK to reflect, re-orient, and renew our programs to better serve abolitionist educators in the struggles ahead. We'll be bringing the heat with:
- Dynamic new cohorts and hubs for PreK-12 educators to connect, build together, and strategize for real change.
- A reimagined and expanded grants program to meet the needs of educators already leading the work in their schools and communities.
- A far-reaching and one-of-a-kind Abolitionist Educator Survey to hear from educators across the country so that their needs and visions lead the network in 2025 and beyond.
- A powerful lineup of abolitionist education workshops, events, and resources—from hands-on guides to tools for action—designed to deepen our collective practice.
To make our plans a reality, we need your help.
We don't often ask for your help because we know our folks can be strapped for cash themselves. But we will be honest with you—our ability to carry out our work into next year, launch programs that will directly address the needs of the educators most under attack, and stay viable is in your hands. No donation is too small. Become a monthly sustainer or ball out on us once before the year ends. Make a tax-deductible contribution today.
Thank you.
